3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 5/5/22

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Thursday night continues with four more Game 2s. Let's see what value can be found.

Lars Eller, Center, Washington Capitals

FanDuel Salary: $4,300

The Washington Capitals center Lars Eller is raring to go again. Eller had been averaging around 15 minutes a night while coming close to three shots on goal per contest.

The floor is solid for the pivot, and he obviously scored a goal versus the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. Overall, Eller had a goal on five shots in Game 1 of Washington's Eastern Conference quarterfinal.

With how chaotic the playoffs get, Eller has proved durable enough to be healthy after an early-season bout with COVID-19.

Filip Chytil is an intriguing middle-six alternative once again at just $3,700 from the New York Rangers.

Trevor Lewis, Wing, Calgary Flames

FanDuel Salary: $3,500

Trevor Lewis is one of those middle-six forwards that can be a glue guy against the Dallas Stars.

These two teams combined for just one goal on Tuesday night, but do not expect it to happen again.

Lewis has the ability to scratch across a little bit of offense, That cannot hurt. Lewis has five shots and eight scoring chances in his previous three games before Tuesday.

The Calgary Flames are a very interesting team and are one of those teams that can play any style. Lewis is a big reason why they adapt so well.

He possesses the power enough to generate a few opportunities. If one goes in the net, he'd smash requisite value in this spot.

Matt Benning, Defenseman, Nashville Predators

FanDuel Salary: $3,600

The Nashville Predators' defense will be under siege again on Thursday night against the Colorado Avalanche.

Now, the good news is that Matthew Benning has plenty of offensive talent. However, Benning has just 12 assists on the season.

The defender plays firmly in Nashville's bottom pairing and tops 15 minutes infrequently. Maybe he will play more Thursday night; his ability to move the puck is something the Predators will need a lot more of given the 7-2 shellacking we saw on Tuesday.

Benning still is looking for a goal, and his floor is also a concern. He averages just one shot and one blocked shot a game, but very little is required out of his spot when he allows access to the day's top stars.
