Minnesota Wild

Players to target: Zach Parise, Eric Staal, and Nino Niederreiter

This stack has more to do with the Minnesota Wild's depth than anything. The Wild have three very solid lines and are taking on the St. Louis Blues, a team with one stacked line and very little depth after that.

This line for the Wild has been crushing opposing teams in favorable matchups to the tune of 67.6 Corsi For per 60 minutes, 14.2 Scoring Chances For per 60 minutes and a 61.2 Corsi For percentage.

In the regular-season matchups against the Blues, Mikko Koivu's line saw the majority of its ice time against Vladimir Tarasenko. This should open things up for the Staal line against the Blues' second and third lines. Not only will they not see the top forwards for the Blues, they won't see a lot of time against stud defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, who plays alongside the Blues' top line.

Instead, Parise, Staal, and Niederreiter will face off against Joel Edmundson and Colton Parayko, who are allowing 54.6 Corsi Against per 60 minutes and 8.6 Scoring Chances Against per 60 minutes. Add in the power-play minutes (Parise and Staal on one unit, Niederreiter on the other), and you have a stack that should dominate at even-strength and will see significant time in five-on-four situations.
