Toronto Maple Leafs

Players to target: Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Connor Brown, and Jake Gardiner

The Toronto Maple Leafs at home always deserve a long look when deciding which team to stack. The matchups in this one project to be as follows: Nazem Kadri versus Claude Giroux, Auston Matthews against Valtteri Filppula, and Tyler Bozak versus Sean Couturier.

Matthews has a clear advantage if this is the case as his line ( Zach Hyman, Matthews and Brown) has posted 59.6 Corsi For per 60 minutes. While we'd prefer Nylander on Matthews' line at even-strength (they did play together some last game), they will play together on the top power-play unit with Jake Gardiner against an average Flyers penalty kill (80.8 percent).

While Filppula is a solid defensive center, his two linemates, Wayne Simmonds (63.1 Individual Corsi Against per 60 minutes) and Brayden Schenn (63.8 Individual Corsi Against per 60 minutes) are not. There is some limited line data on Simmonds, Filppula, and Schenn together -- in 33 minutes together, they are on pace for 72.1 Corsi Against per 60 minutes and 16.4 Scoring Chances Against per 60 minutes.

A player as talented as Matthews should, at the very least, be able to generate a handful of shots and scoring chances against a poor defensive line. This is a relatively cheap stack as well (roughly $5,500 per player on FanDuel).
