Rams' Tavon Austin's role to become clearer in Week 1
Los Angeles Rams' wide receiver Tavon Austin goes up against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1.
Austin was dealing with a hamstring injury during training camp but was not listed on the Rams' injury report ahead of Week 1. With the arrival of Sammy Watkins, LA will be trying to figure out the best way to deploy Austin to get the most out of him. “He’s a special player,†Rams head coach Sean McVay said earlier this week. "And we’ve got to find a way to get him touches and get him involved.†With Watkins taking the attention of opposing secondaries, Austin could find himself as a post-hype sleeper candidate this year.
Our models predict Austin will be the 37th-best wide receiver in Week 1 with 8.6 FanDuel points at a cost of $4,900. We have him pegged for 3.2 receptions, 37.6 yards and 0.4 touchdowns against the Colts.
