Jaguars to sign receiver Gabriel Davis to 3-year deal
The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing free agent wide receiver Gabriel Davis to a three year contract, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Davis' tenure in Buffalo could never quite meet the lofty expectations the team had for him following his 4-touchdown, 201-yard game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, but he still projected as one of the more interesting free agents in this year's receiver class. His arrival in Jacksonville appears to be a sign that Calvin Ridley will be on the move this offseason. While he himself has not shown an elite ability to earn targets, his presence could be a boon for teammates Christian Kirk and Zay Jones.
Davis operated as a decent WR2/3 for the Bills, who unfortunately needed closer to WR1 production from the speedy wideout. He finished the 2023 season with a respectable 45 catches for 756 yards and 7 touchdowns while playing in one of the most high volume passing offenses in football. With Kirk, Jones, and tight end Evan Engram also soaking up targets in Jacksonville, Davis could see a dip in volume going forward.
