Emmanuel Sanders (hamstring) expected to play Week 1 for Broncos
Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (hamstring) is expected to play Week 1 against the Ravens.
Sanders returned to practice Monday after a three-week absence, and he must regain his conditioning in order to be ready for the season opener. Sanders is not expected to play in the Broncos' fourth preseason game on Thursday.
The Broncos ranked second in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Sanders ranked fifth out of 40 wide receivers with at least 100 targets with a 0.89 Reception NEP per target. Our algorithms project him to finish the year with 89 catches, 1,123 yards, and 8 touchdowns.
