Dolphins confirm Skylar Thompson starting Wild Card game

Miami Dolphins quarterback Skylar Thompson has officially been named the starter for the Wild Card Round on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, per head coach Mike McDaniel.

What It Means:

Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is still sidelined and Teddy Bridgewater (finger/knee) is limited, so Thompson will start in Buffalo on Sunday. Over the final two weeks of the regular season, Thompson completed 32 of 52 attempts for 256 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He averaged 4.44 adjusted yards per attempt and had an average depth of target of 6.1 yards, so it will be hard to trust Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in the first round of the playoffs.

Thompson is numberFire's lowest-ranked quarterback for the Wild Card Round out of the 12 projected starters. The Bills allowed the fourth-fewest FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks in the regular season and they finished with the No. 11 pass defense in our adjusted team rankings.
