Cam Newton wants Patriots to 'keep steam moving forward'

New England Patriots quarterback said the team needs to "keep this steam moving forward" following a 23-17, Week 10 upset victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night.

What It Means:

The Patriots are fresh off two straight wins for the first time this season, but Newton believes there's still room to improve. “I do know that we haven’t peaked as a team, yet alone me personally,” Newton said. He completed 13-of-17 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown on Sunday night, plus another 21 rushing yards and a touchdown. Newton has now completed over 75.0 percent of his passes and avoided committing a turnover in two straight games after failing to do either of those things in his previous five. The Patriots will look to make it three wins in a row when they face the Houston Texans in Week 11.

Cam scored 16.8 FanDuel points in Week 10 and is averaging 19.5 FanDuel points per game (QB14). That's mostly supported by nine rushing touchdowns, second in the league to Kyler Murray. As a passer, Newton owns the fourth-lowest average depth of target (7.2 yards) among all quarterbacks with at least 200 dropbacks this season. He may not find much running room versus a Texans defense allowing the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game to quarterbacks (9.7).
