Patriots' Cam Newton throws 3 picks, gets benched in loss to San Francisco

New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton had a trio of interceptions Sunday in the team's 33-6 blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

What It Means:

Newton was awful in every sense of the word, and so too was the rest of the team. He completed 9-of-15 passes for 98 yards and the 3 aforementioned turnovers while being limited to just 19 yards on the ground. Things were so bad that Newton was replaced by Jarrett Stidham in an effort to rejuvenate the offense. He'll try to bounce back going forward.

Newton finished with 2.82 FanDuel points, ranking only ahead of Sam Darnold among full-time passers. He's currently projected for 17.25 points next week against the Buffalo Bills.
