Trent Murphy may not make Bills' final roster
Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Trent Murphy is on the roster bubble, writes Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic.
The Bills signed two defensive ends in free agency and added another in the second round of last week's draft, potentially leaving Murphy without a role. After recording only 1.0 sack through the first 11 games last year, Murphy recorded 6.0 sacks over the team's remaining six games, including 2.0 each in Week 17 and the Bills' playoff loss. His release would clear $7.5 million in cap space.
Murphy finished the regular season with 36 tackles, 5.0 sacks, 3 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries while playing in all 16 games for the first time since 2016. He graded 25th overall on Pro Football Focus out of 66 edge defenders with at least 500 snaps last season.
