Philly Brown explodes for 113 yards, score in Carolina romp

Carolina Panthers wideout Philly Brown caught 4-of-7 targets for 113 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers' NFC title game win over the Arizona Cardinals.

What It Means:

Brown turned in the game's opening first down, streaking across the middle for a gain of 14. He broke it open late in the first quarter with an 86-yard touchdown on a curl route deep down the middle, after which Brown tacked on gobs of un-touched yards after catch. He did have a fourth-quarter drop on a slant route. Brown failed to clear 60 yards in all of his 2015 games, but he made big, critical plays in this one.

Brown turned his seven targets into 9.97 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP). It'll be tougher sledding against the Denver Broncos, who rank first in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. Look for Brown to primarily square off with Aqib Talib in Super Bowl 50.
