Ryan Mathews, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Ryan Mathews has been an inconsistent fantasy option all year, as carries have been difficult to project in this Philadelphia Eagles' backfield. Expected to return from injury this week, we could see Mathews finally receive a bigger share of the backfield touches though. DeMarco Murray's role on this team appears uncertain at the moment, which should finally open the door for the former San Diego Charger.

Despite limited touches, he has scored touchdowns in four of the last five games that he has been active. In a matchup with a Buffalo Bills team that is fifth-worst in the league against the rush (in terms of our Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play metric), we could see more of the same from Mathews this week if the workload is there.

He is still carrying a questionable tag at the moment, so his status will need to be monitored. However, if you find yourself as a big underdog this week, he could provide the type of big game that will give you an edge in your matchup if he's active.
