Wide Receiver: J.J. Nelson

J.J. Nelson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
4 Receptions, 142 Yards, 6 Targets, 1 TD
NEP: +13.54

Week 11 makes it back to back weeks with an Arizona Cardinal wide receiver leading the position. Michael Floyd held the honor last week after his 7-catch, 113-yard, 2-touchdown performance (+12.84 NEP) as Bruce Arians has this offense clicking on all cylinders.

J.J. Nelson finished the night catching 4 of his 6 targets for 142 yards and a touchdown. The fifth-round rookie out of UAB stepped up big with injuries limiting both Floyd and John Brown and was able to utilize his speed to race past Cincinnati defenders. All four of his catches either went for a first down or a touchdown, with two of them coming on a 3rd-and-14 and another on 3rd-and-16.

Nelson and Carson Palmer were able to connect on a terrific 64-yard touchdown, as Nelson scored his first career touchdown. Palmer sold the run on the play action, then hit Nelson, showcasing his 4.28 speed, deep down the field on the post route. He finished the day with the fourth-highest fantasy points among wide receivers with 24.2 PPR points, despite only having four catches in the game. His +13.54 NEP on such a limited sample size showed just how integral his play was to Arizona's success in their 34-31 win.

Among other wide receivers, DeAndre Hopkins sailed past Revis Island for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Julio Jones returned from his bye week to continue his reign of terror on the league. His +11.97 was the third best performance of the week, as he jumped Antonio Brown for the league lead in receiving yards. Aaron Rodgers bounced back after a few poor outings and connected with James Jones 6 times for 109 yards and 1 touchdown. Cecil Shorts got it done in a myriad of ways catching 2 passes for 51 yards, rushing 4 times for 26 yards, and even throwing a 21-yard touchdown pass. Allen Robinson continues his consistent 2015 year, steadily producing each week for the Jaguars.
