Matt Forte, RB, Chicago Bears

FanDuel Price: $8,300
numberFire Projected Points: 17.23

Matt Forte spent the offseason being pilloried as being too old to be a productive member of your fantasy team, only to gash the Packers for 146 yards and a touchdown, accumulate over 100 total yards against the fourth-ranked Cardinals' run defense, and rush for 74 yards on the ground with Jimmy Clausen under center on the road against the third-ranked Seahawks' run defense.

Yeah, I'm thinking all that talk about Forte's demise was a bit premature. Luckily, in daily fantasy football, we can have Forte any week we like, and this is one of those weeks I really want him.

Although the Bears enter the game as three-point underdogs, Forte's game is more game-script-agnostic than most running backs. First, he catches a lot of passes so if the team is down he's still heavily involved in comeback efforts. And second, at least up until this point in the season, he has participated in 80% of the team's total offensive snap count. That's what we call opportunity, the lifeblood of fantasy points.

The Raiders have come a long way in the last few years, but defensively they still need work and rank as the 25th best run defending unit according to our metrics. Forte should feast. As such, he's a very solid play this week in cash games and may even be a good tournament option after a couple "down" weeks due in large part to really tough matchups.
