Larry Donnell, TE, New York Giants

Larry Donnell has shown the ability to be an explosive tight end in fantasy football, but he's been quite inconsistent. Donnell has notched six double-digit PPR performances and also has lines of 0, 1.6, 6.6 and 4.4. Talk about frustrating.

At numberFire, we try to objectively look at why a player has the potential to have a big game. The key components of that come down to matchup, volume, and past performances. Donnell seemingly checks all of those boxes this week, and he'll have every opportunity to ball.

Washington has been absolutely terrible against tight ends this season, giving up the second-most fantasy points to the position. On top of that, their defense has been an absolute dumpster fire in covering tight ends the past couple of weeks. In the last two games, Washington has given up multi-touchdowns to both Coby Fleener and Jared Cook (each had two scores). Fleener went for 127 yards and would have had a lot more had he not dropped a bomb from quarterback Andrew Luck on which Fleener was wide-open.

Regardless, teams are obviously targeting and exploiting this weakness in the Washington defense. That brings us to Week 15, and here comes Donnell, who posted a monster game against Washington last time, scoring three touchdowns on seven catches.

Donnell has seen his healthy share of targets over the last few games, notching seven last week and six the week before. The only hesitation is Donnell's inability to hold onto the football. He's had fumbles at critical junctures this season, and Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has a penchant for benching players who turn the ball over.

Nevertheless, the Giants just don't have enough weapons on offense for Donnell to not play. Keeping that in mind, there should be no reason for him not to be heavily involved in New York's game plan this week.
