Mychal Rivera has been a bit of a revelation in the Raiders offense the past two weeks, catching 15 of 20 balls thrown his way for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns.

So, why not ride the hot hand? Rookie quarterback Derek Carr clearly likes Rivera as a safety net, and the young tight end has potential to get plenty of volume in what figures to be a pass-heavy game plan for the Raiders this week against the Broncos.

Also, consider this: Rivera hasn’t been featured much in the Raiders offense, but has still put up a Reception NEP of 15.82 (good for the 23rd-best tight end in the league). And that’s with him doing most of his damage in the last two weeks.

On top of that, the Broncos give up the seventh-most fantasy points to tight ends, which means Rivera could have another big day. The most enticing aspect to Rivera’s game is his use in the red zone, too - 20 percent of his targets have come from inside the 20-yard line.
