Robert Griffin III Will Be a Top-10 Quarterback

By Tony DelSignore

The injured Robert Griffin III will provide top-10 fantasy value at the quarterback position over the second half of the season.

That's not a typo.

My reasoning is two-fold, but simple. The Redskins offense is producing 391.9 yards per game, good enough for seventh in the league. Their Adjusted Passing NEP currently sits right in the middle of the pack at 16th, with a 31.11 total. That number factors in the miserable performances that Kirk Cousins has posted over the past month, but shows that the infrastructure is there for quarterback success.

The Redskins can move the ball on offense and clearly have loads of talent at the skill positions. Desean Jackson is having another incredible year, currently ranked 14th in our Reception NEP metric. Jordan Reed is finally healthy and will provide RGIII with another weapon when he returns from injury.

Head Coach Jay Gruden has proven that he will run his team's offense to the strength of the quarterback. Don't be surprised if we see Griffin running some read-option and getting back to his 2012 Rookie of the Year form. If he was dropped in your league, now is the time to grab him and reap the rewards of a productive Washington offense down the stretch.
