Jordan Reed, TE, Washington Redskins

It's rare for a tight end to top our weekly waiver rankings, but in a week where there are no obvious picks screaming at us, we'll go with history and consistency and give Jordan Reed the top spot.

It's been said by many - including a few times on numberFire - that this is the year of the tight end, where it seems like half the league can boast an athletic pass-catching option to give linebackers nightmares in the seam. Jordan Reed fits the mold to a T; he might not have the height of some of the prototypes (Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham), but he's a more polished route-runner, and he just so happens to play in an offense that features the tight end perhaps more than any other team in the league.

At the end of the day, waiver pickups have to be about pure usage and the numbers add up: 8 receptions on 11 targets to go along with his average of 5 receptions on 8 targets from last year. As long as he's healthy, he's a borderline TE1 with big upside against weak defenses.
