Lamar Jackson Is a Goalline Back

Getting his first start for the Baltimore Ravens in place of the injured Joe Flacco, Lamar Jackson tallied six red zone carries in Week 11 -- the second-most in the NFL this past week.

It wasn't just his pure volume that impressed, but also his market share. He accounted for 54.5% of the Ravens' red zone carries and 42.9% of their red zone opportunities (rushes plus targets). And of course, mixing his role as the quarterback and top red zone rusher, he also has a hand in the receiving targets, as well.

Alex Collins came into Week 11 with a 43.9% rushing market share in the red zone and 52.3% share inside the 10 yard line, but he was an absolute non-factor in this game. That was true even inside the 10 yard line, where Jackson out-rushed Collins 3 to 1.

Jackson already had 8 red zone carries as only a package-specific role player, so it's no surprise that his workload exploded with the full complement of snaps.

If he draws another start, the potential that volume creates for rushing touchdowns gives him a huge fantasy football ceiling while also limiting the upside of Collins and Gus Edwards in the Baltimore backfield.
