Kareem Hunt's Increased Workload

Kareem Hunt's fantasy value looked like it was at risk of falling off early in the season. His passing game work was limited, and he didn't score a touchdown on the ground over his first two games. Even when he did start scoring, his three red zone opportunities in Week 3 were nothing to write home about, giving him just eight over the first three games of the season. Since then, he has marks of five, two, three and seven -- handling at least 25% of the Kansas City Chiefs' red zone opportunities in three of those four contests (compared to only one of his first three).

On the season, he's up to a 28.4% market share, which isn't huge, but it still good for 17th in the NFL. He also benefits in a big way from how good the Chiefs' offense has been, because if we just look at total numbers (instead of market share), his 25 opportunities are tied for the 3rd-most in the NFL. He's one of only 5 players with at least 7 targets and 15 carries in the red zone this year.

His market share does mean that his touchdown upside is going to remain dependent on the quality of the Chiefs' offense, but that doesn't seem to be any sort of a concern. As they lead the league in points for by a big margin (10% more points than even the 2nd-ranked team), while also sitting in first in our Adjusted Net Expected Points (NEP) per play metric.
