Ito Smith, RB, Atlanta Falcons

Yahoo! Ownership: 4%

Sunday's Atlanta Falcons-Tampa Bay Buccaneers matchup is poised to be a shootout, with the second-highest over/under (57.5) of the week. With that many points flying around, you are going to want a piece. With availability in over 95% of leagues, Ito Smith provides the opportunity for everyone, even those in deep leagues.

With Devonta Freeman expected to miss the game with a foot injury, Smith steps back into the backup/change of pace role he was serving in Weeks 2 through 4. In those games, he collected 26 touches (8.7 per game) for 134 total yards and a touchdown. In a similarly paced shootout with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4, Smith had his best game as a pro, taking 10 touches for 48 yards and a score. He finished as a top-25 fantasy back that week.

This time, he assumes the same role behind Tevin Coleman against the fourth-worst defense in the NFL, per our metrics, in the Bucs. Running backs have gained the sixth-most PPR points against Tampa Bay. In three of the four games, they have played, an opposing running back has finished among the week's top-six running backs.

While I won't claim that it's most likely to be Smith this week, it does show the back will have plenty of opportunities to be a waiver wire savior for you in Week 6.
