Sam Darnold, QB, New York Jets

Yahoo Ownership: 7%

New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold makes it two rookies who should be on your radar this week when your mind slips into transaction mode. The third overall pick in this year's draft has had his struggles; he's not a player who you're going to start on a weekly basis -- even in two-quarterback leagues -- but given the right matchup, he still needs to be considered.

This week Darnold gets a home game against an Indianapolis Colts team that was able to dress only 44 healthy players last week. While some of those players could be back, it's hard to imagine the team will be at full health when they head to MetLife Stadium.

Darnold has completed just 55.7% of his passes this season and has failed to top a 50% clip in three straight games. The Colts might be the panacea he's seeking, as they have given up an absurd 72.1% completion rate through five games. The Colts have allowed at least 243 passing yards in all five contests, which bodes well for a rookie quarterback who has failed to crack 200 in four out of five games. To be fair to Darnold, does one have to throw for a lot of yards when his running backs total over 300 yards?

With Winston and others drawing attention, you may be able to get Darnold without any other's trying to stop you. In an FAAB league, that could prove very valuable if you're looking to save for a bigger spend down the line.
