Alvin Kamara Sees 20 Targets

No player saw more targets in Week 3 than New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara. He was targeted an astonishing twenty (20) times in his side's overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons. He converted these looks into 15 receptions for 120 yards.

The NFL only began tracking targets in 1992, and since then no running back has had as many targets in a single game than Kamara saw in Week 3. The previous record was 18, and was held jointly by Earnest Graham, Darren McFadden and Brian Westbrook.

Kamara's 15 receptions are the most by a running back in a single game since 1999. It beat the 14 that was held jointly by five players, two of whom achieved the feat in Week 2! of the 2018 season. The five displaced record holders are Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, Brian Westbrook, Roy Helu and Marshall Faulk.

Through the first three weeks of the season, Kamara has 30 receptions. This is the most by a running back in the first three weeks of a season since the 1970 merger, beating the previous record of 26 in 2008 held by a former Saint, Reggie Bush.
