Given the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles ended the season with one of the boldest red-zone play calls of modern times, it is somewhat fitting that an Eagles quarterback should top our list of red-zone performers.

But prior to his injury, Carson Wentz was performing on a whole different level to everyone else in the red zone. His 0.91 Passing NEP per drop back is more than double the clip of Aaron Rodgers (0.45).

Only Tom Brady had more red-zone touchdown passes than Wentz’s 24. Similarly, Wentz’s touchdown-to-interception ratio of 24-to-0 trailed only Brady’s 26-to-0. Brady could not, however, match Wentz in terms of touchdown rate. An astounding 40.68% of Wentz's red-zone pass attempts resulted in touchdowns, and the second-year passer was sacked just once in the red zone.

Wentz is reportedly on track to be healthy for Week 1 of the 2018 season, according to reports. If he is able to return and perform anything like he way he did in 2017 -- granted he may have a tough time sustaining that touchdown rate -- he'll be in the MVP mix once again.
