Mike Davis Will Be a Top-10 Running Back

Why This Is Bold: The Seattle Seahawks have transitioned into a pass-heavy team over the past couple seasons. The immense struggles of the offensive line, coupled with ineffective running back play, have led Seattle to unleash quarterback Russell Wilson, who also leads the team in rushing yards.

Why This Will Happen: Mike Davis dominated Seattle's backfield snaps in his return from injury. The Seahawks have always preferred riding a workhorse back over utilizing a committee of different players in different roles, and Davis is that guy for them.

We know the Jacksonville Jaguars have a stifling pass defense, but their run defense is merely average, ranking 17th in the NFL Adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. As a comparison, Davis compiled over 100 yards on 20 touches in last week's win against the Philadelphia Eagles, who rank third in the same metric.

Davis, who has never really been much of a pass catcher, has caught all six of his targets this season in two games. He's looked really impressive in doing so, and his usage in the pass game on Sunday could be a key part of their offensive game plan, as the Jags have had trouble defending opposing running backs through the air.
