The New England Patriots' backfield has been troublesome to predict all season, with seemingly every running back rising to the top at some point. Mike Gillislee, once expected to become the new LeGarrette Blount, now looks like the odd one out as a healthy scratch in two straight games.

But unfortunately for James White, despite the committee being reduced to three, we've seen his stock dip while Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead have seen their roles increase. Earlier in the season, White was the backfield leader in snaps, but he's now trailed both Lewis and Burkhead in three straight games, and Burkhead has also slowly chipped a dent in White's pass-catching duties. Since the Week 9 bye, White has only seen five touches in each of the last two games.

Knowing the Patriots, you never know when the snaps and touches could shift around again. But the latest trends don't favor White, and Lewis looks like the latest favorite in this backfield with at least 14 touches in four straight games.
