Running Back

Chalk

With Ezekiel Elliott finally suspended, it's fair to say that there will be a ton of people looking to get on the Le'Veon Bell train as the Pittsburgh Steelers roll into Indianapolis to face the Colts. He's virtually guaranteed 25-30 touches, which he should easily turn into a fantasy field day against a team giving up the third-most points per game to opposing running backs.

Other than Bell, expect Todd Gurley to once again be a popular play. Houston's defense has actually given up the fewest FanDuel points per game to running backs, but that is partially because their passing defense has been atrocious. However, there will be room for both Goff and Gurley to feast this week.

Orleans Darkwa is likely to be a popular option for those in need of a value play. The San Francisco 49ers' defense has allowed opposing backs to have their way with them all season -- they are currently giving up more than three points per game more to the position than the next-closest team.

Pivot

Melvin Gordon, $7,600 (at Jacksonville Jaguars)

Do you really think the Los Angeles Chargers will try to pass this week? Neither do I. I mean, sure, Philip Rivers can try his hey-diddly-ho darndest, but he's highly likely to fail against Jalen Ramsey and company. So, L.A. will have to find another way to move the ball, and that way is with Melvin Gordon. Despite a couple of massive weeks, Gordon has had criminally low ownership on a weekly basis. He should once again be underowned, even though his matchup is rather enticing.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been playing better against running backs lately, though they can still be beaten by star players. Their last two opponents, Indianapolis and the Cincinnati Bengals, offered little resistance on the ground, but before that we saw Gurley hit 120 total yards, Le'Veon Bell hit 93 total yards with 10 receptions, and the New York Jets go bonkers.

Gordon's balanced skill set will work to his advantage if San Diego remembers to throw him the ball. In his first six games, he saw 39 targets, but has only seen two in his past two games. That's quite the drop off, though it was more game-flow dependent than the Chargers actively looking at other players.

We project Gordon to be the fifth-highest scoring running back of Week 10. He's a worthy play who will likely be passed over for flashier names in tournaments.
