Kareem Hunt Won't Be a Top-12 Running Back

Why This Is Bold: Rookie running back Kareem Hunt has taken the NFL by storm, trailing just Todd Gurley in fantasy points in point-per-reception (PPR) leagues. Hunt leads the NFL in rushing yards and has compiled over 100 total yards in each of his first seven career games.

Why This Will Happen: After beginning the season at a blistering and historic pace, Hunt has crashed back to Earth in recent weeks. To be clear, he's still been a terrific play, supplementing his rushing stats with consistent usage in the passing game, but he's been more human.

Hunt hasn't scored a touchdown in four games and now faces his toughest test yet. The Denver Broncos have one of the league's best defenses and rank first in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play. Averaging 3.86 targets a game, Hunt will likely need heavier usage in the passing game in order to finish this week as a top-12 play at the position -- and that's far from a guarantee.
