There's no beating around the bush here. Theo Riddick has had a disappointing start to the 2017 season for fantasy purposes. Heading into the Lions' Week 7 bye, he had broken double digits just once and appeared to take a back seat to Ameer Abdullah.

The good news is that a new spot just opened up for Riddick in the slot. With slot receiver Golden Tate slated to miss at least the next few games, Riddick could vacuum up Tate's old targets from the slot.

Let's not forget that he had multiple games with seven or more targets out of the backfield last season. Tate's injury opens up an opportunity for Riddick to receive a similar workload in the receiving game to the one he received in 2016, making him a valuable add in any PPR formats.

With the Lions scheduled to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8, Riddick is a top add from the waiver wire this week.
