Marvin Jones, WR, Detroit Lions

NFL.com Start Percentage: 10%

Week 6 Fantasy Points: 15.6

Marvin Jones was the third-best fantasy receiver in standard scoring in Week 6 -- tied with teammate Golden Tate.

Jones isn't the first Detroit Lions player to appear in this column; Kenny Golladay showed up here back in Week 1. Back then, the takeaway was that Golladay could impress if Jones or Tate missed time. Now, the situation is reversed. Detroit has a bye in Week 7, but Tate is expected to miss a few weeks with an injury, and Golladay's status remains uncertain, too.

That means Jones could be in line for heavy workloads. It's not likely that the Lions pass as much as they did last week -- Matthew Stafford's 52 attempts were his most since Week 2 of 2015 -- but it's logical to expect Jones to see a bigger share of the targets. After the bye, Detroit has a tough matchup against Pittsburgh (our 8th-ranked pass defense) but then gets Green Bay (23rd) and Cleveland (31st).

Combine those good matchups with an increase in volume (Tate averages nearly eight targets per game, many of which should go to Jones) and Jones could make another future appearance on our Top Players of the Week list.
