Zach Ertz Leads all Tight Ends with 48 Targets

Through five weeks, Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is averaging 9.6 targets per game. The next closest tight end is Jason Witten, who sits a full two targets per game behind.

Ertz has also been targeted at least 10 more times than any of his teammates and ranks 4th among all NFL players with 27.59% of his team's targets. He has been targeted at least 8 times in each game and has turned that into 387 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's an average of 77.4 receiving yards per game, which ranks 2nd among all tight ends, trailing Rob Gronkowski by just 2.1 yards per game.

If Ertz can maintain this pace over 16 games, he will end the season with 153.6 targets, joining Tony Gonzalez as the only tight end to ever see 150 or more targets in a single season.

Next up for Ertz is a Thursday night matchup with the Carolina Panthers, who have seen opposing tight ends targeted an average of 3.4 times per game this season.
