Running Back

Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

Week 2 Salary: $5,500

Week 3 Salary: $6,400

DeMarco Murray was forced to leave last week's game with a hamstring issue, which let Derrick Henry showcase the talent we've heard so much about. He didn't disappoint, running for 92 yards and a score against a stingy Jacksonville Jaguars defense.

Murray has yet to practice this week, which could leave Henry as the clear lead back for the Tennessee Titans. It should come as no surprise, then, that Henry saw a larger salary increase than any back from Week 2 to Week 3. Many will let the sharp price increase and tough perceived matchup against the Seattle Seahawks scare them off of Henry -- but if he has sole possession of this backfield, Henry could be in store for huge volume.

Tennessee gave their backs 29.6 touches per game in 2016 and are 3-point home favorites in this one. If Seattle's offense continues to sputter, Tennessee could certainly find themselves playing with the lead, which could lead to more touches for their lead back.

While the Seahawks have a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball, they have not defended the run well thus far. Ty Montgomery totaled 93 yards and a score in Week 1, followed by Carlos Hyde's 143-yard performance on 18 touches (7.9 yard average) last week. They have been the league's third-worst run defense thus far, according to our opponent-adjusted metrics.

If Murray is out, this could potentially be a big game for Henry. Don't let the increase in salary scare you off.

Chris Carson, Seattle Seahawks

Week 2 Salary: $5,200

Week 3 Salary: $6,000

On the other side of the ball in this game, we find Chris Carson, who enjoyed the second-largest increase in salary. Carson saw 50 snaps last week, compared to 17 for C.J. Prosise and 16 for Thomas Rawls. (Eddie Lacy did not suit up.) Carson saw 21 touches, while Prosise and Rawls combined for a mere 7.

The Seahawks actually have the eighth-lowest implied team total on the slate (19.75 points), which likely caps Carson's upside. If choosing between one of the two rising backs in this game, just spend the extra $400 and go with Henry.
