Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati Bengals

If you've played anyone from the Cincinnati Bengals offense in fantasy so far this year, you've likely been disappointed.

The backfield has especially been a mess, but Giovani Bernard has played the biggest role of them all, playing 48% of the team's offensive snaps in Week 1 and 52% in Week 2. His 6 targets are tied for third on the Bengals, and he is tied for second on the team with 12 carries.

The Bengals are significant 8.5-point underdogs against the Green Bay Packers. Being a heavy underdog is generally a negative for running backs in fantasy, but in games Cincinnati has been underdogs over the past couple seasons, Bernard has seen the opposite effect.

Despite their poor start, averaging only 4.5 points per game is obviously not sustainable over the long term for the Bengals.

Even if they don't turn things around and become a competent unit on offense, there will be significantly more fantasy scoring to go around. Bernard's significant role means he stands to benefit from that, and his passing game usage leaves him offering some solid value this week, especially in PPR leagues.
