Wide Receiver: Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers
Antonio Brown, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
11 Receptions, 182 Yards, 11 Targets
Performance: 98, NEP: +14.03
While most of the Pittsburgh Steelers were busy shaking off the rust and sleepwalking their way to an uninspiring 21-18 win over the Cleveland Browns, star wide receiver Antonio Brown was continuing to be his dominant self. He was the saving grace of an anemic Steelers offense, catching all 11 of his targets for 182 yards and posting a Performance Rating of 98.
His Receiving NEP of 14.03 was outstanding, and his ability to make plays with the ball in the air is still one of the most impressive things you will see considering his smaller stature. His leaping grab over multiple defenders late in the game sealed the win for the Steelers, and they may have suffered a shocking loss to this young Browns team if not for his heroic efforts.
The consensus top fantasy receiver proved he will once again win based on ability, efficiency and volume, and despite being shut out of the end zone, he was the most productive receiver on Sunday. Brown looks primed for another big-time season if this offense can get on track. And in a week where many fantasy stars struggled to get going, it was exciting to see Brown look like the same player who has dominated the NFL over the past four seasons.
