4 Fantasy Football Splits That Matter for Week 1
A.J. Green Against the Baltimore Ravens
As we mine through any sort of data for fantasy football research, we typically take opponent splits with a grain of salt. However, A.J. Green has performed so well over the years against the Baltimore Ravens that he even garnered a reaction from head coach John Harbaugh following an impressive performance in 2015.

But his inexplicable ability to haunt Baltimore goes much further. Since the 2011 season, which spans eight games, Green has produced an average of 5.13 receptions, 90.75 receptions, and 0.75 touchdowns when he suits up against the Ravens. And that production has been even better since 2013 -- in five games played, he's enjoyed three performances of 130-plus yards with 6 touchdowns.
If healthy, though, Green is obviously a terrific option in any format. He would've had his sixth consecutive 1,000-yard season last year had he not gotten injured, and despite not playing a full year, his 0.76 Reception NEP per target was still among the league's best when considering wide receivers with at least 60 receptions.
Concerned about the presence of a healthy Tyler Eifert? You shouldn't be. Green has averaged 18.2 fantasy points per game in 18 contests in which Eifert also takes the field (over the last three seasons), per RotoViz's Game Splits App. That's a full point more than his average in 20 game without the tight end (17.1).
Green's preseason target market share of 46.4 percent should give us even more confidence that Sunday has a good chance of resulting in a(nother) terrific performance against Baltimore.
