Avoid Ben Roethlisberger as a Road Underdog

Last week, we had Ben Roethlisberger as a recommended start because of his crazy home/road splits. Since the start of 2014, Roethlisberger has averaged 30.1 fantasy points per game at home and just 17.12 fantasy points per game on the road. For that same reason, it's wise to stay away from Big Ben this weekend.

The Kansas City Chiefs are 1.5-point home favorites versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Usually, bookmakers will give a team three-point advantage if they are playing at home, so a spread of less than three shows that this game will likely come down to the wire. Chiefs home games have gone under the total six out of eight times this season. The total for Sunday's tilt is 44 points, the lowest on the slate.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid has had much success in his career coming off of long rest. According to Rich Hribar, teams coached by Reid coming off of a bye are 19-2 overall including 3-0 in the playoffs.

Roethlisberger doesn't possess desirable upside when he plays on the road. Add in that this is a playoff game in Arrowhead, and you have an ugly matchup. His price on FanDuel doesn't help matters either as he is priced at $8,100, ranking fifth among quarterbacks. He is priced just $600 cheaper than the top option, Aaron Rodgers. Roethlisberger is nothing more than a punt play at the quarterback position in tournaments.
