As 5.5-point Vegas underdogs on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs, DeMarco Murray will likely be an afterthought in DFS. But you shouldn’t overlook him -- with his $500 salary decrease, he’ll need just 14.8 FanDuel points to reach cash game value, a number he’s hit in all but two games.
You typically shouldn’t target running backs as road underdogs, but Murray has proven to be game script-proof. He’s totaled six games of at least five receptions, he’s touched the ball at least 20 times in every game since Week 2, and he’s seen 57 red zone carries and targets, third-most in the NFL.
The matchup may seem scary, but Kansas City has been vulnerable lately -- they’ve allowed a running back to reach at least 100 total yards in four consecutive games.
With his consistent opportunity and now cheaper price tag, Murray is an easy cash game play if you’re not jamming in both David Johnson and Le'Veon Bell. He’s also an elite tournament play, as he’s already scored three times his salary in three games this season thanks to red zone usage and touchdown upside.
