Red Zone Market Shares

1. Todd Gurley Can Still Have Value

It's Week 14. We probably shouldn't have to give you pep talks to use a guy who was a first-round pick in season-long leagues this year. That's just how things have gone for Todd Gurley. The brown stuff hit the fan a long time ago on this guy, but that doesn't mean he has lost all of his fantasy value.

The main asset that Gurley still has is his red zone usage. Although he technically hasn't had a red zone opportunity since Jared Goff became starter, Gurley still ranks fourth among all running backs in red zone market share at 43.5%. The only guys ahead of him are David Johnson, DeMarco Murray, and Melvin Gordon. The Los Angeles Rams may not get there often, but you know that when they've got chances to score, Gurley's likely in line to benefit.

Gurley's rush-only involvement in the game plan is going to make him hard to trust whenever the team is an underdog, as they should be pretty much every week. But in good matchups against defenses where the Rams may be able to put up points, it might be worth it to have Gurley exposure just in case he unleashes his season-long rage all in one pop.

2. Dez Bryant's Role Is As Meaty As Ever

Gurley's Rams may not get many cracks at the end zone, but Dez Bryant's Dallas Cowboys certainly do. And when that happens, Dez is still absolutely their main boo.

Over the past five weeks, Bryant ranks fourth among wide receivers in red zone target market share at 31.3%. He has at least one red zone target in five of his six games since returning from injury, and he has multiple looks in two of those games. The Dez we know is back in business.

And it's not just in close where Bryant is getting peppered with targets. His overall target market share since returning is a whopping 27.1%. That helps give him a hefty floor, and the touchdown potential gives him a ceiling. Bryant's pricing is still likely below where it should be, warranting investment even in games where his matchup may be completely underwhelming.
