The Pittsburgh Steelers Are Dead Last With 8 Sacks

No team this season has sacked opposing quarterbacks less than the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their 8 sacks through seven games currently puts them on pace for 18.29 sacks over a full 16-game season. That is exactly one-third of the 48 sacks the Steelers had last season, which ranked 3rd in the NFL.

They have flashed the ability to get after the quarterback, with a combined seven sacks between Weeks 4 and 5 of this season, but they have just one sack total across their other five games.

The Atlanta Falcons finished last in sacks last year with 19, and the last team to have less than that over a full season was the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009, when they had only 14.

Coming off of their bye week, Pittsburgh has a great opportunity to get out of the sack-cellar in Week 9 against the Baltimore Ravens, who have allowed multiple sacks in six of their seven games this season.
