Mike Evans Leads the NFL With 50 Targets

Mike Evans is averaging 12.5 targets per game through the first four weeks, which puts him on pace for 200 targets this season. Only five receivers in since 1990 -- including Julio Jones in 2015 -- have recorded 200 or more targets in a season.

Despite all other receivers having at least five less targets than him, Evans is only tied for fourth with 26 receptions this season. Michael Crabtree, who also has 26 catches, has done so on only 37 targets.

Evans’ 0.77 Reception NEP per target ranks 28th among all wide receivers with 15 or more targets this season. Although for fantasy purposes, such significant volume will trump some per-target ineffiency.

A Week 5 meeting with the Panthers -- who just allowed Jones to go over 300 receiving yards on 15 targets – gives Evans a good opportunity to increase both his targets and efficiency.
