Golden Tate doesn't fit the mold as your traditional red zone or goal line receiving threat, and at 5'10" and 198 pounds, he's the smallest player on this list. Touchdowns caught in the air-space under six feet count for just as many fantasy points as touchdowns caught above defenders, though, and you can't discount Tate's production just because of his size.

Among the 61 players to see at least 15 goal line targets over the last three seasons, Tate's 57.89% touchdown rate is second only to Julius Thomas, and ranks first among wide receivers.

Jim Bob Cooter will be handling play-calling duties for the Lions this year, and from the time he took over that job last season, the Lions were the eighth-most pass-heavy team on the goal line, with a 1.60 pass-run ratio.

With the retirement of Calvin Johnson, who accounted for a team-high 23.68% of the team's red zone targets and 24.32% of the goal line targets, Tate will have no shortage of targets in scoring range. And with his outstanding efficiency, that's a recipe for major touchdown production.
