College Football Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 11/2/19 Late Slate

Week 10 of college football is here! FanDuel's Saturday night college football DFS late slate includes 9 games.

In case you're unfamiliar with how it works, you can check out the rules and scoring on FanDuel, where you can hit the lobby each week to see the full array of slates and contests being offered.

As for the basics, your roster consists of a quarterback slot, two running back slots, three wide receiver slots (which also includes tight ends) and one super flex slot. In the flex, you can insert one player from any position, including quarterbacks.

Here, our goal is to help you field a roster full of fantasy goodness, and in true numberFire fashion, we'll use our in-house projections as well as betting totals and advanced statistics to tackle as many slates as possible in the lead-up to the College Football Playoff. This week, we are only breaking down Saturday's late slate, which locks at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Let's breakdown which players are in great spots as well as identify some players with cheap price tags that will allow you to roster the high dollar players.

Quarterbacks

Shane Buechele, SMU ($9,800) – Buechele has accounted for 22 of the Southern Methodist Mustangs' 44 offensive touchdowns this season. The junior quarterback is averaging 290.6 yards passing and nearly three touchdown passes per game. With Buechele under center, the Mustangs have scored at least 34 points in every game this season. Buechele provides a solid floor as he's tossed at least two touchdown passes in each of the last six games.

Brady White, Memphis ($8,500) - In American Athletic Conference play, White is averaging 332.7 passing yards and 3 touchdown passes (last three games). The junior has tossed at least two touchdowns in seven straight games. This week's top-25 matchup with SMU is a good spot for White. The Mustangs are allowing 270.9 passing yards per game (rank 112th in the nation) and nearly three touchdown passes per game (20 touchdown passes allowed in eight games).

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA ($8,400) – Thompson-Robinson has accounted for 18 of the UCLA Bruins' 29 offensive touchdowns this season. The Bruins welcome the Colorado Buffaloes to town on Saturday night. Colorado has been fantasy friendly to opposing quarterbacks this season. In three out of the last four games, Colorado has surrendered at least 300 yards passing and 3 touchdown passes to opposing quarterbacks. Thompson-Robinson is expected to play this week despite leaving last week's win early due to a leg injury.

Others to consider: Michael Penix Jr. (if he plays), Bo Nix, Peyton Ramsey (if Penix Jr. is out), Desmond Ridder, Bryce Perkins, Sam Howell, Ryan Hilinski, Mo Hasan (if he plays), Shane Buechele, Kedon Slovis, and Steven Montez

Running Backs

Kenneth Gainwell, Memphis ($10,300) – Gainwell has had a phenomenal rookie year for the Memphis Tigers. The freshman has topped 104 yards rushing in six straight games. Gainwell leads the Tigers with 979 yards rushing (ranks seventh in the nation) and 11 rushing touchdowns. The versatile running back is also the Tigers’ second leading receiver. He has 34 receptions, 440 yards receiving, and 3 touchdown receptions. As the focal point of the Memphis offense with an implied team total of 38.75 this week, Gainwell should have no problem stuffing the box score against SMU.

Tavien Feaster, South Carolina ($8,300) – Feaster has the backfield all to himself with Rico Dowdle ruled out for this week’s matchup with the Vanderbilt Commodores. In almost two full games without Dowdle, Feaster has run for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns on 44 carries. The senior running back should have plenty of running room against the Commodores as they're surrendering 202.1 rushing yards per game to opposing backfields (ranked 108th in the nation).

Kenan Christon, USC ($7,200) - With the Southern California Trojans likely missing their top three running backs this week (Vavae Malepeai, Stephen Carr, and Markese Stepp), Christon should make his second consecutive start. Blessed with track star-like speed, the freshman has rushed for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 carries in the Trojans' last two games. He also has a receiving touchdown. Christon figures to play nearly the entire game this week and he's simply too cheap for his role change.

Others to consider: Xavier Jones, Stevie Scott III, DJ Williams, Michael Warren (if he plays), Gerald Doaks (if Warren is out), Wayne Taulapapa, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, CJ Verdell, Cyrus Habibi-Likio, Alex Fontenot, Ty Chandler, and Joshua Kelley

Wide Receivers

Laviska Shenault Jr., Colorado ($8,900) – Shenault Jr. is coming off his best game of the 2019 season after catching 5 passes for 192 yards and finding the end zone once in Colorado’s 35-31 loss to the USC Trojans. The talented playmaker has recorded a touchdown in two straight games for the first time this season. Up next is a date with the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins are allowing 306.8 passing yards and 3 touchdown passes per game to opposing offenses. Shenault Jr. torched the Bruins for 12 receptions, 126 yards receiving, and 2 total touchdowns in Colorado’s 38-16 win a season ago.

Damonte Coxie, Memphis ($8,000) – Coxie burst onto the college football landscape a season ago by recording 72 receptions, 1,174 yards receiving, and 7 touchdowns. The junior wide receiver has either topped 100-yards receiving or scored a touchdown in four out of the last five games. Also aiding his case this week is a matchup with SMU’s lackluster pass defense. The Mustangs have surrendered 21 touchdowns via the air.

Kylen Granson, SMU ($6,500) – Granson is typically the third option in SMU’s explosive pass game. With Reggie Roberson Jr.’s availability in question (SMU’s second leading wide receiver), targets should flood to James Proche and Kylen Granson in this week’s projected shootout with Memphis. The junior tight end has 9 receptions, 126 yards receiving, and 2 touchdowns in the Mustangs’ last two games.

Others to consider: Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway, Whop Philyor, Elijah Moore, Seth Williams, Anthony Schwartz, Josiah Deguara, Alec Pierce, Joe Reed, Dazz Newsome, Kalija Lipscomb, Bryan Edwards, Shi Smith, Antonio Gibson, Michael Pittman Jr., Tyler Vaughns, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jaylon Redd, Johnny Johnson III, Demetric Felton, Tony Brown, and Kyle Philips
