15. South Carolina Gamecocks

While the South Carolina Gamecocks haven't increased their standing among the 16 teams, they have increased their overall efficiency. Directly ahead of Xavier, South Carolina is the top overachieving team in the tournament to date. For that reason, ESPN has them all the way up at number 11. They have wins over 10 seed Marquette and 2 seed Duke to thank for that.

They also owe a big thank you to their unquestioned leader and senior guard Sindarius Thornwell, who has 53 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists in two games. In addition, he's connected on 6 of 12 threes while heading the Gamecocks' offensive attack.

In the next stage, South Carolina will take on a Baylor team selected by 14.4% of bracket-makers to advance past the Sweet 16. At this point in time, it's no wonder the Gamecocks are 3.5-point underdogs ahead of Friday night's matchup.
