5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Monday 1/23/23

The Celtics aren't the only team with some clear value opportunities tonight. Who can help us bolster rosters at a low FanDuel salary?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Derrick White, PG/SG, Boston Celtics
Payton Pritchard, PG/SG, Boston Celtics

White's FanDuel Salary: $5,500
Pritchard's FanDuel Salary: $3,900

We can also throw Al Horford ($5,500) here, but the Boston Celtics are a big source of value tonight because of some key absences.

Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon are out, and Robert Williams is questionable.

With Smart and Brogdon off the floor, Derrick White has a 17.5% usage rate and averages 0.92 FanDuel points per minute, according to CourtIQ. Payton Pritchard's usage rate is 24.5%, and he averages 0.88 FanDuel points per minute in this split.

They are numberFire's top two projected values of the night as a result, and Horford is top-five as well.

Kenyon Martin Jr. SF/PF, Houston Rockets
Jae'Sean Tate, SF/PF, Houston Rockets

Martin's FanDuel Salary: $5,300
Tate's FanDuel Salary: $4,400

For tonight's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Houston Rockets are going to be without Kevin Porter Jr., and they also list Jabari Smith as questionable. That matchup has a 236.0-point total, which is about average for this slate but high overall.

Kenyon Martin Jr. is projected for 32.8 minutes and 28.5 FanDuel points (good for $5.38 FanDuel points per $1,000). KJ has a top-five minutes-per-$1,000 value projection among players with salaries below $6,000, too.

A starter in a game like this is hard to gloss over at the salary, so KJ Martin is back on the value menu tonight.

As for Jae'Sean Tate, he averages 0.84 FanDuel points per minute without Porter Jr. and Smith on the floor on the strength of a 18.3% usage rate. Martin's numbers are 19.3% and 0.88, respectively.

Keegan Murray, SF/PF, Sacramento Kings

FanDuel Salary: $5,300

When in doubt, it's never bad to look to a game with a high total. There are none higher than what Keegan Murray gets tonight.

His Sacramento Kings are hosting the Memphis Grizzlies in a game with a 246.0-point over/under, a contest that also has a narrow 1.5-point spread.

Murray, in three games with a total of at least 245.0, has averaged 10.0 points and 7.3 rebounds for 24.3 FanDuel points per game.

He's projected for 33.9 minutes and 27.0 fantasy points tonight.
