NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Friday 10/2/20
Player props can be useful in a variety of ways, from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash), to measure a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy basketball.
While you can use those odds in fantasy, you can also utilize our fantasy projections and a variety of other tools to help make money betting everyday player props.
For this article, we are using the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook to pinpoint three spots where value can be had on a player's stat line, scoring, or even shot type.

LeBron James, Over 19.5 Rebounds and Assists (-106)
LeBron James was dominant in Game 1, finishing one assist short of a triple-double. LeBron totaled 25 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists in 36 minutes. Game 2 could feature the Miami Heat without Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo, two of Miami's most important players this postseason.
The Lakers have leaned on LeBron for rebounding and passing. LeBron has led the Lakers in assists 14-of-16 playoff games, and he's paced them in rebounding 10-of-16 times. He's surpassed 19.5 combined rebounds and assists in three of his last four games and 8-of-16 overall in the playoffs. Even though that's only a 50% mark, he's done damage on this total in the NBA Finals. Across his last 28 NBA Finals games (2016 to 2020), including Wednesday's Game 1, he's surpassed this total in 17-of-28 contests (60.7%). In his last 10 NBA Finals contests, he's hit the over on this total in eight of them.
He's off to the right foot for the Lakers after 13 boards and nine assists in Game 1, and he should be at it again in Game 2 against a banged-up Heat team.
Tyler Herro Over 18.5 Points (-104)
Tyler Herro isn't scared of the spotlight, and he's proved that throughout the postseason. Now, Miami will likely be without Dragic, and Herro could step into the starting lineup as the team's starting point or shooting guard. The Heat could opt to start Kendrick Nunn, but regardless, Herro and Jimmy Butler will be the engines that make the offense go in Game 2.
Herro scored 14 points in Game 1 on 6-of-18 (33.3%) shooting, tied for his second-most field-goal attempts in the team's 16 postseason games. We should see more of that volume in Game 2.
The rookie has now scored in double-digits in 23 straight games, including all 16 playoff appearances for the Heat. Herro's averaged 16.3 points per game in the playoffs -- an impressive number, especially compared to the 13.1 he posted in the regular season. He's upped his minutes from 27.4 in the regular season to 33.1 in the playoffs.
Herro averaged 13.3 field-goal attempts in the Eastern Conference Finals, his most of any series, and he should see an increase in that number with all of Miami's injuries. He should see enough chances to hit the over.
