3 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 12/19/19

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

George Hill, PG, Milwaukee Bucks ($4,000)

With Eric Bledsoe out for a few weeks, the rotation at point guard has changed for the Milwaukee Bucks.

We know that Donte DiVincenzo has taken over the starting point guard job, but this also means there are more minutes to go around for a player like George Hill. With an over/under set at 225 points, this Los Angeles Lakers at Bucks game is a clear spot to target for fantasy production, and with Hill's new role, he should be able to reach value. Over his last three games, Hill has played 21 minutes or more in each game, the first time he has done that since the beginning of November. In those three games, he has managed to produce 19.5 FanDuel points or more in each game, nearly reaching 5x value in each game.

Tonight, we have Hill projected for 23.77 minutes and set to produce 20.6 FanDuel points, making him the second-best value at point guard tonight.

P.J. Tucker, PF, Houston Rockets ($4,700)

With a potential preview of a future playoff matchup, the Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Clippers game is one to watch tonight.

The highest over/under on the slate -- 233 points -- is held in this late game, and there are plenty of value options to look at. One player to keep an eye on tonight is P.J. Tucker, who is projected as our third-best value player at power forward. One thing is very clear for Tucker -- he is not a big usage player at all. We know that James Harden and Russell Westbrook dominate the usage, so much so that we see Tucker last among the Houston Rockets' starting five players, sitting at an 11.6% usage rate. That is nothing to get excited about, but what we do get from Tucker is a TON of minutes.

He is average 36 minutes per game and producing 0.73 FanDuel points per minute this season, giving us a classic positives and negatives situation. The minutes are great, the game environment is great, but the usage rate and production are lacking. With all that said, we have Tucker projected for 24.9 FanDuel points tonight, which has him exceeding 5x value.

JaVale McGee, C, Los Angeles Lakers ($4,300)

Even with Anthony Davis set to return tonight, we can still find value in their lineup.

Much like the Rockets mentioned above, the Lakers' offensive usage is dominated by two players. Of course, I'm talking about Davis and LeBron James, but there is plenty of production coming from JaVale McGee as the starting center, too. He is essentially splitting time with Dwight Howard, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking towards McGee tonight. He comes in with the third-highest usage rate on the Lakers starting five (15.9%) and is producing a very solid 1.30 FanDuel points per minute.

There is a strong chance he reaches or exceeds that production tonight since the Bucks are allowing 53.1 FanDuel points per game to centers this season -- 10th worst in the league -- giving him a path to success tonight. He can go for over 30 FanDuel points in under 20 minutes in what should be a high-scoring game.
