FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Helper: Sunday 11/3/19

If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.

With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a bunch of other great resources to help give you an edge.

We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each position.

Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.

Shooting Guard

We have James Harden ($11,100) at the top in what should be the best fantasy game of the night, but he is certainly pricey relative to the rest of the shooting guard pool. With 52.8 FanDuel points per game, he isn't quite paying off his tag, on average, but the pace should be the highest of any game on Sunday's main slate. He's a great play, and value should let us get there by tip-off. Jimmy Butler ($9,300) is questionable in that matchup, as well.

DeMar DeRozan ($7,700) has averaged 21.6 points and 33.3 FanDuel points per game through five to kick off the 2019-20 season. DeRozan also has averaged 1.00 FanDuel points per minute on a 27.6% usage rate. In a home spot against the Los Angeles Lakers' second-ranked defense, he is actually my preferred per-dollar play at the position to start the day.

Buddy Hield ($6,400) is cheaper and faces a mid-level New York Knicks defense. Hield has a sturdy 26.0% usage rate and projects for around 32 minutes tonight, making him a high-floor option, as well.

Danny Green ($4,000) is fresh off a 34-minute outing with disappointing fantasy production. With 0.82 FanDuel points per minute, he hasn't kept up his hot start, but the minutes and price make him a fine play on the slate.
