NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Thursday 11/1/18
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
Russell Westbrook ($12,000): Westbrook has been seeing somewhat tame minutes since making his late debut to the season, playing 34 or more minutes in only one of his four games. His last outing saw him play only 33.5, but he also came out of that game with a shade over 3 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, with the Oklahoma City Thunder well on their way to a blowout win. If that game were close, we'd have likely seen him hit a season-high 36, and there wouldn't be any concern about his minutes. His 1.51 FanDuel points per minute to open the year are right in line with his 1.49 from last year, so with his playing time back up, we can expect something like the 54.3 FanDuel points per game he averaged last season. With question marks surrounding the only other player priced above $12,000 tonight (more on him below), Westbrook -- projected 55.6 FanDuel points, per our models -- is the top high-priced play in cash games.
