NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Sunday 10/22/17
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and -- depending on injury news -- even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer, and a ton of other great resources to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with this primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's main slate.
Best of the Best
Anthony Davis (FanDuel Price: $11,500) - The 2017-18 season may not have started well for the New Orleans Pelicans -- they are 0-2 -- but it is not for lack of trying from Davis. The Brow is averaging 34.0 points as he continues to grow his range, sinking 2.0 threes per game. He is taking over 20 shots per game while posting a whopping 37.7% usage rate. In a 67.9 FanDuel-point night on Friday, he dished out 5 assists, something he did only twice last season. Offense hasn't even been his strongest suit so far. Davis is leading the NBA with 17.0 rebounds per game while grabbing a total of 12 offensive boards in just two games. While his price tag is up there today, the power forward is worth it as the Pels face the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have run at the fastest pace in the NBA while giving up 119.0 points per game, fifth-most this season.
