3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 11/29/16

Kyrie Irving has to go up against his old teammate, Matthew Dellavedova, tonight, putting him in a tough spot. Who else should you look to avoid on Tuesday?

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include tonight in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about some guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?

Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets each night. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference from winning or losing your contests.

Kyrie Irving, PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

FanDuel Price: $7,600

If you don't think Matthew Dellavedova has had this date circled on his calendar ever since signing with the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason, you're wrong. Delly finally gets to play his old mates in Cleveland, and while most will be focused on the battle between Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James, Dellavedova's matchup with Kyrie Irving is just as intriguing.

It's also a matchup that may make it hard to invest in Irving. Dellavedova has probably gone against Irving in practice more than any other player in either of their careers. He knows him, and he is going to have a chance to exploit that.

There is also the little fact that Dellavedova is still an elite defender. He is part of the reason the Bucks are allowing less than 0.8 FanDuel points per minute to point guards this year, and his defended field goal percentages are even more impressive. Dellavedova is holding players he defends to just 33.6% shooting from the floor and only 20.6% shooting from the three-point line. So even if you don't want to buy into the narrative, it's still going to be a very tough matchup for Irving.

Jabari Parker, PF, Milwaukee Bucks

FanDuel Price: $6,400

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Bucks game has some fantasy value, but it seems like there are just as many landmines. Jabari Parker faces a tough road against Kevin Love, who not only has been playing like he is in Minnesota again, but his defense has been pretty serviceable this season.

Love has held players he defends to just 45.6% shooting from the floor, which is actually right around the average field goal percentages of the players he has defended. The Cavs have also been good overall in their defense against power forwards, holding them to only 0.78 FanDuel points per minute.

Parker has been up and down this season, but in his up games, a theme has started to show. Parker has five games this season where he has scored at least 39 FanDuel points and four of them came against teams in the top 10 in pace. The Cavs are playing pretty fast, ranking 13th in pace, but their defense should travel tonight, hurting Parker's value.

Trevor Booker, PF, Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel Price: $5,600

Trevor Booker is earning every bit of his $9 million per year salary this season for the Brooklyn Nets. He is posting big numbers for this shaky team, but that just means his fantasy value has been through the roof. He has been a great cash game play, too, posting fewer than 25 FanDuel points only three times in his last 11 games.

However, it might be a night where Booker doesn't see as much success as he faces off with Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers have held power forwards to only 0.75 FanDuel points per minute and while Griffin is experiencing some knee soreness, as long as he is out there tonight, Booker is a landmine waiting to happen. Griffin has held players he defends to just 42.4% shooting from the floor and as long as he is ok, he should do the same to Booker tonight.
